Hey guys, let me fill you in with how this 2009 year has started off for me...LC-36.

While working harder than ever and riding like a new rider, I was excited to go into the opening Amateur race held at Lake Whitney. Spending a couple weeks in Texas sure let me see where I was at and with it came a lot of experience. Lake Whitney Spring Classic was a roller coaster ride for sure. I rode three classes. Going into my mains I had a DNF in two classes and a 2nd place finish in the other. So, with only one chance of winning a title, I had to make that 2nd place work for me in the main. In the 250f B stock class, I got out front early. I pulled away from the pack and rode a flawless race to the checkers; taking my first title of the year! I was very excited and thankful.

Oak Hill, the following week, didn't go as well. I was riding great but there were more motos with problems than I would have liked! I definitely learned a lot from my first and second week in Texas. I learned in the first week that I had great speed and I was a huge threat in the highly competitive Intermediate class. I was capable of winning at any moment. The second week I learned that being hungry, fast, and a little to excited, doesn’t work sometimes. You need to be fine tuned with each and every moto. I found myself thinking way too much and being flustered on the track, where it’s much easier to just go ride and put it together. Overall, I got two 5th's. I was one of the riders where the "main takes all" wasn't in my advantage! But just like I’ve always done, I started regrouping and learning the day the event ended to prepare for the next race...

For the next week I rested and regrouped. I had an opportunity to ride with the Vurb Moto crew while we filmed for their all new movie coming out called Epic!! The video is going to be Epic! We had a fun time with some killer shots at the prestigious place to ride…Zaca Station! After doing that, I spent a few days at the Red Bull Compound in Piru, California. I rode and tested my new mod race bike done by C4MX. The week went great! I was also able to go and see the USA head quarters for Red Bull in Santa Monica, CA. What an experience! It was just like I had pictured in mind. Red Bull is the classiest and greatest energy drink company and you can tell they are like that just by seeing their crew and how they operate…Very professional on top of all things! The week went by too fast and before I knew it, it was time to make our way to Las Vegas, NV for the World Mini Grand Prix..

The 2009 World Mini went well for me. The whole week was pretty plain and simple... In fact, I was getting mad at all the 2nd and 3rd finishes under my belt! I needed a win and I got it that last day, in the mains, where it counted. Winning the 250f 4stroke class was very exciting. I had a great moto and led every lap of it...That wrapped up the week in Vegas and it was back to Vancouver, WA with some tittles in hand.

Shortly after returning home I had an opportunity to go down to Zaca Station again and ride with one of my all time hero’s; that would be Jeff Emig. We filmed a Video for the Fox Racing website. It was a fun day but for some reason I was feeling very drained on energy and ended it short. Well, come to find out the reason was because I had mono. I spent weeks in bed to get over the virus and couldn’t ride at all Knowing the Loretta Lynn's regional qualifier was around the corner, my mono still wasn't gone but I needed to race it. In a motocrossers fashion, my family and I drove to Glen Helen Raceway to get it out of the way. I practiced Friday and I felt like I was riding in slow motion the whole time. I was able to put in two fast laps but it seemed like 2 laps was my max, not to mention my reaction time was far off! Not good at all. I wish I could end this paragraph saying everything went well and I can start working hard for LL's, but it’s not going to end like that. Saturday morning I had one of the most freak accidents I've ever had on a motorcycle. I was riding up to the line for practice in a hurry and it wasn't where we usually get on the track. Riding over a little ledge maybe two feet tall, I was quickly on the ground. I didn't know what happened at first because it happened so quickly. I soon realized that I had hit a tire causing me to crash and causing me to also break my leg and have it pointing the other direction. I laid there on the ground and was sad, the most sad I've been in my whole life. The pain wasn't a factor; I didn't care about the pain. I just laid there screaming about how Loretta Lynn's was done for me...

I made a quick decision to be taken to Doctor Ting. I have so much faith in Doctor Ting and his crew. Their care is so important to me, and my career in racing because I know with any injury I'll be in good hands! Driving 7 1/2 hours with a badly broken leg wasn't fun, but seeing Doctor Ting, Tuan&Only, and Rico, made me feel much better. I had surgery that night, and the next morning I set a foot forward to healing and getting strong. I will be back soon, strong, positive, and better than ever. I can't wait to go down and see the Ergo Fitness crew and have Doc's permission to ride. Having been through my fair share of injuries, I’m thankful to have great doctors and their support, it makes me a better rider and stronger person!

Keep checking back in, I will keep you guys updated. I can not wait to be back on the bike for myself and everybody else around me! I’m very thankful everyday for what I've been given and for being a part of motocross, the sport I love and have a passion for, the sport we are all a part of!

Thanks for reading this section and update.
